April 11, 2018 – Morning Report
It’s a beautiful day on the slopes at Stowe! We have perfect blue skies this morning and lots of sun. The temperatures aren’t exceptionally warm, but the snow is starting to soften up anyways. Today looks like possibly the best day left this season as we have some mixed precipitation on the way over the next four days. Sunday is closing day at Stowe, so get out there and enjoy the snow while you still can!
Conditions on the groomers are packed frozen granular this morning, but the snow was softening up quickly. Liftline was skiing great, and lower angle groomers had perfect corduroy. The temperatures are only expect to rise to about a high of 40, so the snow isn’t going to get too heavy and slushy today, rather it should be a fun spring day on the slopes with relatively consistent conditions.
Off the groomers the snow was a little firm to start the day, although a dusting of snow last night did help freshen things up a little bit. We’re not super confident that snow on ungroomed trails is going to fully soften today, but if the sun stays out throughout the afternoon there is definitely a good chance it will. There’s still a ton of coverage out there and the Mansfield Stake is still sitting at 88 inches, so we’re in really good shape overall.
See you on the slopes!
