April 20, 2017 – Afternoon Report

Thursday was an interesting day of skiing and riding at Stowe. We started with temperatures above freezing and some beautiful groomers on north slope, sunrise, and Perry Merrill. The bump runs, including the front, were open at 8 o’clock this morning, and were soft from the start. Our pick of the day was Lift Line, to S-53 woods back to Lift Line. The woods on the upper half of the mountain are skiing great right now, but be careful, ¬†you really need to know where you’re going, and there are some obstacles. Friday’s forecast looks like rain through midday with the possibility of some dry weather arriving by late afternoon. Put on your Gore-Tex and come on up for some soft spring turns. The weekend weather is looking much better, and all season pass holders including mid week pass holders can ski and ride this Saturday and Sunday for the final two days at Stowe.
