Track the Latest Conditions

April 27, 2017 – Morning Report

The mountain may be closed, but that doesn’t mean the skiing is done! We decided to skin up this morning to check out the snow conditions and enjoy some well-earned turns. Although there was some low cloud cover and fog the snow was already starting to soften nicely. By this afternoon, after some warm weather and sun, we’ll be right back to spring corn conditions.

Nosedive has possibly the best coverage right now due to its exposure. Slopes that get a lot of sun are starting to show some tricky bare, but there’s top to bottom snow cover on Nosedive and other trails with similar exposure. You’ll get the best conditions this afternoon as the clouds are expected to part and the temperatures are supposed to rise into the 70s. By late afternoon the snow may be a little slushier than we’d like, which makes skinning more tiring, but it will still be worth getting up there.

Grab your gear, head to the mountain, and go earn some turns!

Average Base Depths (from closing day):
Snowmaking: 18″ – 48″
Natural Snow: 0″ – 24″
Mt. Mansfield Stake: 71″
