December 5, 2017 – Afternoon Report

Tuesday was one of those days that rewarded the few skiers that showed up this morning. It was relatively dry till around 2:00 in the afternoon. The day started with temps around 32 at the top and in the high 30’s at the base. The groomers did a great job with smooth, soft corduroy. The fog on the upper mountain came and went making for variable visibility, and a few passing light showers, softened the surface. Today conditions were very spring like with soft, carve-able  surfaces everywhere. The rain did very little damage to the base, and should end this evening. Temps will be colder tomorrow, and there is a possibility of some light accumulation, as the rain turns to snow. Wednesday with temps around freezing and some sunshine, could turn into another carve-able early season day.

Average Base Depths:
Snowmaking: 12″ – 36″
Natural Snow: 4″ – 12″
Mt. Mansfield Stake: 18″
Season Total: 37″
