December 6, 2017 – Afternoon Report

Today was a good day to try out a new pair of carving skis with sharp edges. Yesterday’s rain and today’s cold gave us a challenging night to get the trails back in shape. The groomers did manage to lay down a firm fast surface for today. To preserve the base both Hayride and Nose Dive were left ungroomed last night. Those trails were skiable if you had sharp edges, good technique, and didn’t mind the vibration. Tomorrow calls for flurries, cold temps in the teens and twenties, and another night of grooming on all the trails to soften the surface.

Average Base Depths:
Snowmaking: 12″ – 36″
Natural Snow: 4″ – 8″
Mt. Mansfield Stake: 14″
Season Total: 37″
