Today was one of those ski days at Stowe. The day started with clouds, wind, temps in the teens, and the Gondola on wind hold. The sun came out mid morning and the Gondola opened around noon. Yesterday’s rain turned into today’s ice and hardpack . Mountain Ops tried to soften up the groomers with an extra early morning groom. You had the option of firm corduroy or chunky softer double groomed parts on trails. We tried some ungroomed trails and trees but they are best left for some warmer temps or fresh snow. The pic of the day is looking towards Lake Champlain from the top of the Lookout Double. The trail of the day was Gondolier with a decent groom before skier traffic. Tomorrow will be better after everything gets another groom.
